JEDDAH: The Arabic hashtag “Security guard takes his shoes off for an elderly woman” was trending in Saudi Arabia on Saturday.
A video has gone viral showing a security guard in the Grand Mosque taking his shoes off and giving them to an elderly woman who was wearing slippers made of cardboard. The act of kindness was caught on camera and the video went viral on social media. People in the Kingdom expressed their joy and pride over the guard’s generosity and kindness toward a fellow human.
Tweeting in Arabic. @4n2qedasaCYsVAl said: “I repeated the video several times and each time, it effected me more. He did not hesitate, not even for a moment, he quickly took his shoes off to protect the woman from the hot asphalt, he did not think of his own feet. Saudis, how kind your hearts are, and how strong your faith in Allah is.”
“These are the ethics of our religion. Our security men have good in them, and they are the ones fit enough to serve the Grand Mosque’s guests (Pilgrims),” tweet Noura.
